Con il comunicato stampa di seguito allegato, XFX ha reso noto di aver arricchito la propria gamma di schede grafiche GeForce 8 con il nuovo modello GeForce 8800GT 256Mb (cfr. foto seguente): si tratta di una video card, disponibile in versione "Standard" e "XXX" al variare della frequenza di clock delle memorie on board, che si fa notare, rispetto ai prodotti omologhi dei competitor o alle altre 8800GT della stessa XFX, per la dotazione di RAM, che è pari a 256Mb, contro il valore di 512Mb, che può essere ritenuto tipico per questa classe di GeForce.
Per il resto, le feature della scheda sono pienamente allineate a quelle esibite dalle versioni a 512Mb. La GeForce 8800GT 256Mb di XFX arriverà sul mercato nella prossima settimana: il prezzo suggerito dal produttore, tasse escluse, è di €149.
