Qualche giorno fa erano stati immessi sul mercato i primi sample (cfr. questa news), ieri ATI ha ufficialmente annunciato e presentato la nuova gpu Radeon X1900GT che, in accordo comunicato stampa del chip-maker allegato di seguito, offre ai consumatori un livello prestazionale molto vicino al modello al top di gamma della linea X1900, ovvero la Radeon X1900XTX, pur essendo commercializzata ad un prezzo di riferimento di $299.
L'architettura standard delle schede video dotate del nuovo processore grafico, che opera ad una frequenza di clock pari a 575MHz, prevede l'impiego di 256Mb di memoria RAM GDDR3 a 600MHz ed un sistema di raffreddamento a single-slot. Le nuove Radeon X1900GT possono essere utilizzate per la realizzazione di sistemi grafici multi-gpu in abbinamento ad una card Radeon X1900 CrossFire Edition.
