HighPoint Technologies ha annunciato la board di add-on denominata RocketU 1022A, una soluzione low-cost, appartenente alla categoria dei dispositivi HBA (Host Bus Adapter), che rende disponibili due porte USB 3.0 (SuperSpeed) ed è compatibile con tutti i sistemi dotati di uno slot PCI-Express Gen 2.0/Gen 1.0 x1, x4, x8 o x16 libero.
Il RocketU 1022A è utilizzabile, in accordo al produttore, sia in ambiente Windows (Windows 7, 2008 e Vista a 32-bit e a 64-bit) che Linux; le porte USB 3.0 di cui l'HBA di HighPoint Technologies è dotato promettono un transfer rate pari a 5Gb/s; le device di storage di nuova generazione, come HDD e SSD, sono particolarmente indicate per l'utilizzo in abbinamento a tale board, che è naturalmente retrocompatibile con qualsiasi drive esterno USB.
La device RocketU 1022A è già sul mercato; il produttore, tuttavia, non ne ha ufficializzato l'MSRP.
