GIGABYTE ha ufficialmente annunciato il supporto dei prossimi processori AMD a 45nm (socket AM3 e AM2+) "desktop oriented" da parte di un gran numero delle sue attuali motherboard basate sui chipset 790FX, 790GX, 790X, 770, 780G, e 740G di AMD e nForce 750a SLI con IGP GeForce 8200 di NVIDIA.
Come già accaduto con altri produttori di primo livello, come MSI (cfr. questo documento) e ASUS (cfr. questo documento), GIGABYTE ha diffuso una lista, presentata peraltro anche di seguito, che racchiude tutte le motherboard in grado di gestire una cpu AMD di nuova generazione a valle di un aggiornamento del bios.
