Gigabyte ha lanciato di recente 6 nuove motherboard compatibili con i nuovi processori Core 2 Duo di Intel: tra esse la GA-965P-DS3 e la GA-945P-S3 si segnalano per il prezzo che è sensibilmente basso (la seconda delle due è acquistabile con meno di €80 circa) nonostante si tratti di soluzioni che consentono l'installazione delle cpu Intel di ultima generazione.

I costi per l'utente finale sono stati contenuti in virtù dell'impiego per la loro realizzazione di chip-set non recentissimi quali il 965P e il 945P, entrambi by Intel: tuttavia il livello prestazionale offerto da entrambe - la fonte ha effettuato i test utilizzando come riferimento una motherboard con l'attuale chip-set top di gamma di Intel, il 975X - non è affatto quello tipico dei prodotti di fascia bassa.

By using the year-old 945P chipset, they are able to offer a board than will retail for under $100! They also offer a low-priced 965P board as well. Both boards have basic features, but should excel in overclocking.
