Sapphire Technology ha appena lanciato la sua ultima serie di acceleratori grafici dotati delle soluzioni di elaborazione grafica più sofisticate e potenti mai realizzate nel settore dei PC.
L’entusiasmante nuova serie RADEON X1900 deriva dallo sviluppo dell’architettura della serie RADEON X1000, di recente introduzione. Avvalendosi di una nuova GPU creata con ben 384 milioni di transistor sulla più recente tecnologia chip 90nm, la serie RADEON X1900 è stata sviluppata per offrire livelli di prestazione ineguagliati nei sistemi GPU singoli o duali.
La nuova architettura include 48 processori pixel shader e 8 processori vertex shader e un controller di memoria interna basato su un ring bus a 512 bit, capaci di fornire insieme una vera compatibilità Direct X 9 Shader Model 3.0. Il sofisticato multi-threading su larga scala è supportato con centinaia di thread simultanei su più core. Inoltre, la capacità di gestire thread di piccole dimensioni e più istruzioni shader per thread massimizza l'efficienza del processore. L'immensa gamma dinamica di questo nuovo processore consente di realizzare effetti ultra realistici, come ad esempio le ombre morbide dinamiche e la simulazione fisica di fluidi come la pioggia o l'acqua, elaborati a velocità mai raggiunte prima. La qualità dell'immagine non ha pari, grazie al rendering di gamma dinamica alta (HDR) con virgola mobile a 64 bit, alla funzionalità di blending e a un nuovo filtraggio anisotropico (AF) di qualità superiore, il tutto combinato a massimo 12x di anti-aliasing (AA) in modalità Crossfire.
Questa architettura supporta anche AvivoTM, che fornisce immagini vivaci ad alta fedeltà e la riproduzione video conforme ai più recenti standard video ad alta definizione, ed è abilitata al display HDTV.
Sapphire lancia diversi modelli in questa nuova entusiasmante famiglia di prodotti, tutti dotati di 512 MB di memoria GDDR3 ad alta velocità. Il modello più alto della gamma è RADEON X1900XTX, con clock motore a 650 MHz e frequenza di clock memoria di 775 MHz (effettivi 1550 MHz), mentre il RADEON X1900XT dispone di clock a 625 MHz e 725 MHz (effettivi 1450 MHz) rispettivamente. Esiste anche la scheda RADEON X1900 Crossfire Edition che supporta gli altri due modelli nei sistemi GPU duali.
Le versioni per la vendita al dettaglio di questi nuovi acceleratori grafici Sapphire vengono fornite con Sapphire Select, il nuovo accattivante modo di offrire una varietà di giochi diversi all'utente finale. In dotazione con ogni scheda viene fornito un DVD contenente una selezione di applicazioni e giochi di spicco di diverse case software leader del settore. Il cliente finale ha la possibilità di giocare un'ora con ciascuno dei giochi forniti, prima di scegliere i titoli che desidera tenere e utilizzare i codici di attivazione corrispondenti.

The exciting new RADEON X1900 series is a development of the architecture of the recently introduced RADEON X1000 series. Using a new GPU built with a staggering 384 million transistors on the latest 90nm chip technology the RADEON X1900 series has been developed to deliver the highest levels of performance available today in single or dual GPU systems.
Features of the new architecture include 48 pixel shader processors and 8 vertex shader processors together with a 512-bit ring-bus based internal memory controller together delivering true Direct X 9 Shader Model 3.0 compatibility. Sophisticated large scale multi-threading is supported with hundreds of simultaneous threads across multiple cores – and the ability to handle small thread sizes and multiple shader instructions per thread maximizes processor efficiency. The huge dynamic range of this new processor enables ultra realistic effects - such as dynamic soft shadows and the physical simulation of fluids like rain or water - to be processed faster than ever before.
Image quality is unrivalled, with 64-bit floating point High Dynamic Range rendering (HDR), blending capability and a new higher quality anisotropic filtering (AF) combined with up to 12x Anti-Aliasing (AA) in Crossfire mode. The architecture also supports AvivoTM delivering vibrant high fidelity images and video playback to the latest High definition video standards and is HDTV ready.
Sapphire is introducing several models in this exciting new family, all featuring 512MB of high speed GDDR3 memory. Top of the range is the RADEON X1900XTX with its 650MHz engine clock and 775MHz (1550MHz effective) memory clock frequency, while the RADEON X1900XT has 625MHz and 725MHz (1450MHz effective) clocks respectively. There is also a RADEON X1900 Crossfire Edition card which supports either of the other two models in dual GPU systems.
Retail versions of these new Sapphire graphics accelerators are shipping with Sapphire Select, the exciting new way to deliver a choice of games to the end user. Each card is bundled with a DVD containing a selection of top applications and games from several leading software houses. The end customer can play each of the games for a one hour trial before choosing which titles he or she wants to keep and using the activation codes for those titles.
