AMD ha annunciato le memorie RAM di tipo DDR3 denominate Radeon RG2133 Gamer Series. Come si intuisce dalla denominazione commerciale, si tratta di soluzioni gaming-oriented capaci di lavorare non soltanto in abbinamento alle cpu di Advanced Micro Devices ma anche a quelle di Intel, garantendo una frequenza di clock che può raggiungere il valore di 2133MHz.
I nuovi moduli Radeon RG2133 Gamer Series sono AMP Certified e XMP Ready: in base ai dati ufficiali questi prodotti, se utilizzati nell'ambito di piattaforme che includono le APU AMD della Serie 10, sono in grado di consentire l'esecuzione dei game con un incremento massimo del frame rate (FPS) pari al 22%.
La stabilità termica è garantita anche alle alte frequenze, pari a 2133MHz o simili, in virtù di un cooler passivo caratterizzato da una struttura irradiante in alluminio particolarmente compatta.
I moduli Radeon RG2133 Gamer Series saranno disponibili a breve in kit dual con capacità massima pari a 16GB e quad con capacità massima di 32GB.
Contestualmente AMD ha annunciato il software Radeon RAMDisk 4.1, sviluppato da Dataram Corporation, con il quale è possibile creare dei dischi virtuali utilizzando la memoria RAM. In tal modo viene velocizzato l'accesso ai dati da elaborare incrementando di conseguenza le prestazioni del computer.
