MARKHAM, ON – December 5, 2005 – ATI Technologies Inc. (TSX: ATY, NASDAQ: ATYT), the leader in mobile graphics technology, today announced its MobilityTM Radeon X1600 graphics processor has been chosen to drive the revolutionary new ASUS A7G multimedia performance notebook. ATI's Mobility Radeon X1600 delivers innovative Avivo technology for a superior quality, high-definition visual experience with lightening-fast graphics performance. It is also based on the 90 nanometer design process, which provides better performance using less power.

The ASUS A7G notebook is an all-in-one digital multimedia solution, featuring 17.1” widescreen display, built-in TV tuner and high-definition audio with four onboard speakers, Webcam, microphone and more. Backed by ATI's Mobility Radeon X1600 and Avivo, A7G delivers stunning, true-to-life visuals, incredibly smooth video playback and exceptional graphics performance—from personal video recording and high definition TV, to enthusiast-level gaming.

“ASUS is pleased to deliver the first notebook with ATI's Mobility Radeon X1600 and Avivo technology to the market and in doing so ushering in an exciting new era in unsurpassed visual realism and performance,” said Tony Chen, General Manager of Notebook Department. “By selecting ATI and Mobility Radeon X1600, based on 90 nanometer process technology, we are truly able to drive the performance-thin mobile market to the next level.”

A7G's lightening-fast graphics performance rivals that of a desktop replacement notebook, but in a thinner and lighter form factor, making it as ideal for the multimedia enthusiast as it is for the seasoned business traveler.

“ATI is committed to driving mobile graphics innovation forward to enable us to deliver the highest performing, best quality products to our customers.” said David Cummings, Director of ATI's Mobile Business Unit. “We are pleased ASUS has selected ATI to help it deliver the world's first notebook that uses Mobility Radeon X1600 graphics. With the launch of A7G, ASUS is introducing a notebook that provides unprecedented performance and stunning image quality in a portable, low-power package.”

As versatile as it is future proof, the A7G, with Mobility Radeon X1600 is also ready to support the current requirements of Microsoft's next-generation operating system, Windows Vista, which is scheduled to launch in 2006.

The A7G will be available in Europe and Asia immediately. For more information on Mobility Radeon X1600 or other ATI products, please visit www.ati.com.
