Con il comunicato stampa di seguito allegato, TUL Corporation ha annunciato la scheda grafica PCS HD4890 2GB GDDR5. Si tratta di una soluzione basata sulla gpu ATI Radeon HD 4890 in configurazione OC ed equipaggiata con il doppio del quantitativo di memoria tradizionale (2GB piuttosto che 1GB, appunto).
La nuova video card, che è commercializzata con l'ausilio del brand PowerColor, promette considerevoli incrementi delle prestazioni con i game le cui impostazioni per elevata qualità grafica sono tali da saturare un frame buffer da 1GB. In tali condizioni, i dati legati alla elaborazione dei giochi sono scritti nella memoria centrale, essendo quella locale alla scheda grafica ormai satura, e ciò determina dei rallentamenti nella fase di elaborazione del gioco che si manifestano macroscopicamente con bruschi cali del frame rate medio e istantaneo.
Ad accentuare maggiormente il livello di performance offerto dalla scheda grafica vi è una configurazione "overclocked by factory" che preve l'operatività del core grafico a 900MHz e della RAM on board a 1GHz fisico (4GHz effettivi). La banda del bus che interconnette la gpu con lo stadio di G-DDR5 è a 256-bit. Al fine di stabilizzare le prestazioni, Tul ha adottato un sistema di cooling by ZEROtherm.
