Con la seguente comunicazione AMD ha rilasciato una hotfix indirizzata agli utenti che eseguono il game Far Cry (il cui lancio sul mercato internazionale avverrà durante la prossima settimana, ndr) mediante l'ausilio di configurazioni che includono una scheda grafica Radeon HD 4800, Radeon HD 4600, Radeon HD 3800, Radeon HD 3600, Radeon HD 3400, Radeon HD 2900, Radeon HD 2600, Radeon HD 2400, Radeon X1950, Radeon X1900, Radeon X1800, Radeon X1650 o Radeon X1600. I Sistemi Operativi Microsoft interessati dalla fix sono Windows Vista 32-bit Edition, Windows Vista 64-bit Edition, Windows XP Professional, Windows XP Home, Windows XP Media Center Edition e Windows XP Professional x64 Edition.
In accordo allo sviluppatore, questo software, che include sia il Display Driver che il Catalyst Control Center, è finalizzato ad incrementare le prestazioni delle card citate in precedenza qualora siano impiegate in configurazione CrossFire con la modalità DirectX 9 di Far Cry 2 oppure sia in configurazione CrossFire che singola con la versione DirectX 10 di Far Cry 2.

- Improves performance for the DirectX 9 version of Far Cry 2 on CrossFire compatible systems
- Improves performance for the DirectX 10 version of Far Cry 2 on both single and CrossFire compatible systems
