Al pari delle soluzioni omologhe già commercializzate o lanciate dai rispettivi produttori, anche il sistema di Averatec è basato sul processore Atom di Intel - il chip è siglato Atom N270 e lavora a 1.6Ghz - ed è equipaggiato con 1GB di RAM DDR2.
Il nuovo Averatec Buddy abbina all'ormai classico display LCD da 10.2-inch un hard drive da 160GB ed il supporto integrato della tecnologia Wi-Fi. Il Sistema Operativo pre-installato è Windows XP Home di Microsoft mentre il suo MSRP (il prodotto sarà acquistabile on line nei prossimi giorni, ndr) è pari a $449.00.
